Story of a Marriage

I dedicate this story to those who are married, not married and soon to be married. I hope you will be touched with this story...

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.

She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Dew. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce.
She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that everyday for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning.. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Dew about my wife's divorce conditions.. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully..

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time.. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mum out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead.. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy.

Do have a real happy marriage!

The Power of Thoughts

Thought is pure energy. Every thought you have, have ever had, and ever will have is creative. (Creative – Ability to Create) The energy of your thought never ever dies. Ever. It leaves your being and heads out into the universe, extending forever. A thought is forever.
A Stanford University study which was undertaken several years ago concluded that average person has sixty thousand thoughts a day, fifty nine thousand five hundred of which are the same as the day before. We think many of our thoughts without planning to do so; they just happen in an instinctive and spontaneous manner, springing from our subconscious mind in a similar manner to spring water suddenly spurting forth above the ground.
An interesting exercise which you might like to try is to plan to only think about what is happening right now for a short period of time; to spend even five minutes “in the now” can prove to be an incredibly difficult task. Most of us are just so used to a constant commentary of thoughts running through our minds that we have forgotten what it feels like to still our minds and therefore be able to place our full focus upon the current moment.

Not only have we forgotten what this feels like, we somehow can also feel that we do not know how to still our minds and stop these myriad thoughts from interfering with our enjoyment of the current moment. Perhaps if we realized the true impact of emitting such a mixed bag of thoughts energy we would try a little harder to still our thoughts and focus our energy more positively and more effectively.
Not only would this have a major impact upon our own immediate life and environment, it would also benefit the big wide world far away from us; the entire universe is affected by every thoughts each of us has. We tend to think that our thoughts are our own individual and private “property” and believe that they only impact on our own immediate environment. Your thoughts affect the world around you.
For those who have been introduced to the “stick person” concept in “Anda Dilahirkan Berjaya” (ADB) should understand the power of the thoughts. For those who want to know what “stick person” concept is, attend ADB.

Go Back To Basic

Dear Muslim Brothers and Sisters,

During this Bless Month of Ramadan, it will be good if we can revisit some of the basic of Islamic principles. Sometimes we tend to ‘fly’ too high and we forgot what the answer to 1 + 1 is. When we look around us, everybody seems so busy and we again tend to overlook these so called basic principles. Without us aware, we disobey these principles and as a result, we have to pay heavy price in life.

Few days back, I stumbled upon this talk by a Brother who happens to embrace Islam recently. This thought provoking talk really jolts me about the true meaning of being a Muslim. Since it has helps me in many ways, I guess it may have the same effect on you. Let us ponder on what he says …

When I looked back in what PPB3K has to offer, how glad I’m that PPB3K is very much aligned to what this Brother said. I do hope PPB3K will be my legacy to bring harmony and peace to this world. Amin.

The Interview

As promised in my last upload, I attach here the interview between Riz Khan and Sami Yusuf. Let's observe ...

I was personally touched when Sami Yusuf highligted that we Muslim tend to complicate our religion whereas in reality our religion is simple to practice and in sync with human nature. I wonder why does this scenario happen to us?

May Allah S.W.T. bless Sami Yusuf & Riz and not to forget all of us .

Sami Yusuf, The Musician

I was first introduced to Sami Yusuf’s music about 3 months back when a friend shared his song titled Asma Allah. I must say his songs are contemporize, elegant and in his own word, fusion. I must proclaim myself now that I’m his fan.

Born in Tehran and brought up in England with strong roots from Azerbaijan, he is indeed a fusion himself. He received so much love from where he came from but as he said, he remains true Briton at heart as other Britons do. Graduated from London School of Music with top honors and well versed in at least nine musical instruments.

This young gentleman really caught my attention with his intellectual and his humbleness. I was really impressed the way he communicates his thoughts. You shall witness that in my next article when I feature his interview with Riz Khan of Al Jazeera Network. You be your on judge.

He is a man that really embodied what has been stated in ‘Anda Dilahirkan Berjaya’. He is young but his mission and vision are clear. He knows where he wants to bring his music. He is fully conscious of how high the society’s expectations are on him. And that I must say it’s quite an achievement for a young man like him.

You can call him a superstar since he has sold more than 2 million records worldwide. But this young man remains defiant to the idea. He just wants to be known as somebody who is in love with what he knows best which is his music and to spread what he strongly believes through his music.

Let’s watch one of his videos here. Enjoy!

Sajikan Senyuman Tulusmu Pada Saudaramu

Renungan: PPB3K mampu buat anda tersenyum!

Meaningful Quotes

When you live your life living other people's dreams, you live a life of mediocrity but when you live out your passion, you live a life of greatness.

The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.
No matter where you are in life right now, no matter who you are, no matter how old you are – it is never too late to be who you are meant to be. Unless you choose to take action on what you want, nothing is ever going to come out of it.

If something’s important to someone important to you, it should become important to you as well.

Persuasion is the art of guiding one’s mind through a field of ignorance, misinformation or misunderstanding to a destination where there is enough information and understanding to make logical choice to do what is in the best interest of the person being persuaded.

Mediocre idea excellently acted on is more valuable than genius idea poorly performed.

Make it a habit to use the power of your mind to make you rich instead of using the power of your mind to make yourself poor.

The illiterate of the 21st Century will not be those who cannot read and write but those who cannot learn, unlearn and re-learn.
There are people who have been working for ten years but have got only one year experience.

Treat your money as slaves; drive them mercilessly. Make them work hard for you. But first, you must get them a good job!

The great misunderstanding in our money world is thinking something is an asset when it is actually a liability. Assets generate recurring income and positive cash flow. Liabilities cause recurring expenses and negative cash flow.
I can calculate the movement of the stars but not the madness of men. – Sir Issac Newton

Life is a stage. We are all actors. When we pretend we can succeed, we are on our way to real success!

Life is like cotton. Don't make it heavier by sinking it in the water of sorrow. But make it lighter by letting it blow in the Wind of Joy...
The two word that best sum up the success of the world’s ‘madmen’ are hunger and passion!

Wealth is when small efforts produce big results and poverty is when big efforts produce small results.

In this world everyone will fall in love - That's Fact but we may not express it - That's Truth and when we express it we may not receive the same love - That's Life.
People and organization need new breath of fresh air to lead them to positive transformation. The new breath of fresh air is none other than PPB3K!

Putus Asa

Mior, Just Move Forward! (JMF)". To you my friends, thank you so much!.
Tuan-puan bagaimana?

Mereka having fun!

Jawap aku ... elakkan terjebak ke dalam Hukum Niat Berkurangan (The Law of Diminishing Intent). Fikirkan ...
